IRONMAN PRINT WORK

A huge part of my design role at IRONMAN was designing for print. Frequently I would design brochures, programs, billboards, merchandise, trophies and medals.

Program and
information books

Designing these types of documents was almost a weekly event for me. From programs to community liason booklets these books were often printed and placed online.

Event poster design

The event poster was always the first design I would do for any IRONMAN event. This design was the first step in building that years event design, and would be carried through all event collateral including Merchandise.

Billboard design

This 22 metre billboard was created to help promote the local IRONMAN 70.3 Ballarat event in Victoria. I designed many of these billboards throughout my time at IRONMAN.

Tram billboard

Promoting the IRONMAN Melbourne event on the City Circle Tram in Melbourne.

Map creation

Frequently I created maps similar to this one, for all events that I worked on. These maps have been manually drawn in Adobe Illustrator the triathlon course, venue maps, community road closures etc.

Merchandise design

I designed alot of merchandise during my time at IRONMAN. Here are a few examples.

Event towel design

For all towel designs that I did for IRONMAN it was important that I not only tie in the event branding, but also add a touch of fun, classy and add a visual token of the location that the event was held in. In the case of IRONMAN Malaysia, Langkawi…the tropical theme seemed like a fine choice!

Event t-shirt design

Modern and on trend designs for athletes to wear.

Event finisher medal

For every event I created a medal design that was to be beautiful, different and a treasure that finishing athletes will cherish for the rest of their lives.  Here is an example from the IRONMAN Melbourne event.

Event Trophy design

Only top ranked finishers of the event were awarded this trophy.

I designed the trophy in Adobe Illustrator. I created the design files for the Chinese manufacturing and then briefed them on how they can help me bring my vision to reality.
